Inner-City Teaching Corps
The Inner-City Teaching Corps (ICTC) is an educational nonprofit organization whose mission is to transform education in underserved Chicago communities and to empower children in the city's urban schools through innovative people and programs. ICTC annually recruits outstanding young leaders from top colleges and universities across the country, in addition to dynamic career-changing professionals to serve in Chicago's classrooms. Holistic professional development includes - in partnership with Northwestern University - Illinois’ first urban Alternative Teacher Certification Program and continuous mentorship throughout the academic year. ICTC teachers have taught more than 20,000 students and provided nearly $900,000 in school scholarships since its inception in 1991.

Every year dozens of college graduates choose to join ICTC's Volunteer Teaching Corps. We offer an exciting two-year teaching program that places outstanding recent college graduates as classroom teachers in inner-city Chicago schools. Members of the Corps are given a unique opportunity—the chance to serve children; the chance to grow personally and spiritually by overcoming challenges; the chance to work side-by-side with other talented young people from around the country with similar principles and passions; and the chance to put your education to work for those whose needs are most neglected by our society.
