I am having trouble finding the regulations regarding international donations (regulating the flow of money going from the US to, say, Mauritania, for philanthropic purposes). Does anyone know what must be done to meet federal regulations, or know where one might look for this information?

Hi, David! This is Linda Alvarez from the Leo Community Development Network (LECDEN), located in the Kiambiu slum of Nairobi, Kenya. I live and work in WI in the United States. I fund raise on a very small scale here and also send donated items to LECDEN. Everything is so expensive. I have decided to send Moneygrams because those are far less costly than bank to bank transfers. I have had to send donated items through the US mail in flat rate boxes for $50 per 20 pounds. If anyone knows of any other way that would be more cost effective, please let me know.Thanks, Linda
