Jeff:

Can you email me more information about your school and students? I'm wondering if faculty or students might be interested in contributing to our e-publication "The Exchange"

chiquitaw@gmail.com

Thanks!!!

I've worked with children & youth for over 10 years. In NYC for the past 6. usually through outreaches of other organizations, tutoring, mentoring, outreaches in low-income areas, etc. Currently I teach and mentor youth through Youth Explosion Ministries. I joined the group hoping to extend my network and being able to expand upon available resources to inner-city youth, while hoping to help out other organizations in the process.

I work with students in east NY as a school counseling intern with GROUNDWORK. Ive been with them since last October working with their family resource center as a Mental Health Counseling intern. I am interested in teaming up with other CBO's in the area and creating projects for us to work on together to combat everything that is going on.

My school is always looking for good mentors for students in their internships, does anyone have any good contacts? Looking forward to collaborating with people.

The Exchange, our blog that takes a look at global issues from the youth perspective, is premeiring October 22, 2007! In our look at the 2008 Presidential Election, we explore relevant issues like national security, America at war, immigration, the electoral process, minority candidates and people and programs that do great work to increase youth participation in the political process. It is also chock full of handy resources!

Active URL and updates will be listed soon!

If you'd like your youth-serving organization (501c3, school, student club, faith institution, health-care facility, public/private venture, media publication or broadcast) to be listed on our community resources page, please email at chiquitaw@gmail.com.

Peace,

Chiquita
