The Clay County Commission refused to issue a permit for a proposed 2,400-capacity pig CAFO in Skree Township. The community organized and prevailed.

Winners: Clay County community
Losers: Baer Hogs business

Issues:
water pollution and odor from large, concentrated amounts of manure
decreased property values
loss of small family farms and quality of rural life
