Climate Change and Local Agriculture Event
Date: January 14, 12:41pm
I know probably not everyone in this group are greenies, but climate change is a topic that affects all sorts of issues - public health, poverty, etc. I'm helping promote a climate change and local agriculture symposium event on January 30 with the Honest Weight Co-Operative in Albany. Here's the information:

Local Food for Global Survival: New York Farming and Climate Instability

Lectures and discussions:
- What to expect from climate change? Dr. Cynthia Rosenzweig, Nobel
Prize winning IPCC/NASA scientist
- What Can Be Done? Panel of New York farmers and scientists
- Question and answer session

Time: Wed, Jan 30th, 8:45-noon
Location: New York State Legislative Office Building, corner of State
& Swan St., Albany, Hearing Rm C

Co-sponsors: Honest Weight Food Co-op, Regional Farm and Food
Project, Assemblyman Felix Ortiz, and the Northeast Organic Farming
Association of New York

A local Winter Breakfast will be provided before and after the speakers!

If you would like to attend or volunteer for this event, please let me know! The organizers are trying to make a count ahead of time of how many people are expected. Also, the Q&A session will use questions submitted beforehand for the sake of relevance, so if you have a good question and will be attending, please send it along. Even if you cannot make it, I would definitely appreciate it if you could pass on this information to anyone else who may be interested. Thanks!
