South Bay Salt Pond Restoration Project
Date: March 30, 3:12pm
Hello all. I think this is a good place to talk about the South Bay Salt Pond Restoration Project. It is a long term restoration project that will eventually turn 15,100 acres of former salt ponds into a mixture of salt marsh, mudflat, and managed pond habitats. Project goals are: "1. Restore and enhance a mix of wetland habitats; 2. Provide for flood management in the South Bay; 3. Provide public access and recreation opportunities." (as per http://www.southbayrestoration.org/) This project is being undertaken by a number of local, state, and federal participants. There are local stakeholder forums I thought you may be interested in. Cheers.
