Benefits for Hourly Employees
Date: August 19, 2:44pm
I work for a small $500k non-profit organization. Most of our employees are salaried or part time less than 20 hours. We have one part time employee who works 25-30 hours a week and is paid on an hourly rate. If you have a similar situation, can you please share with me your benefit package for this type of an employee. Do hourly workers (over 20 hours) usually receive pro-rated vacation, holidays and sick days, or is it case-dependent? Thank you!

It boils down to how you defined eligibility for the benefits. We define eligibility for full-time employees who get paid days off as those who are regularly scheduled to work 28 hours per week or more. For our Pension plan, it's 1000 hours worked in a calendar year before someone is eligible to participate in the program. Hope this helps.

I'm not sure what you mean by that. I'm actually talking about hourly employees over 20 hours.
