A friend told me that there will be an assistant editor position available at a magazine for whom I would love to work. They haven't advertised the position but have posted another opening for a support position for the nonprofit to through which the magazine is produced. I'd also be a decent fit for that position. Still I'm more interested in the asst ed. gig. I'd like to apply for both in the same letter because the one person is doing the hiring. But I am not sure how to word it since the asst position hasn't been posted. Ideas appreciated! Thanks
