We are very excited to advertise the following volunteer opportunity with United Way Worldwide (formerly United Way International) in Uganda.
For the weekend traveler side of you, Uganda is home to the highest mountain range in Africa (the Mountains of the Moon in the Rwenzori National Park) and it has the highest concentration of primates on earth, including mountain gorillas (at Bwindi Impenetrable National Park). Many Encore! volunteers opt to add another few weeks to their tour to do some sightseeing, and Uganda certainly merits it (check out some pictures at
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rwenzori_Mountains).
Whoever does get selected for this assignment will have all their expenses paid, and they will have the opportunity to be abroad for 12-18 months. Certainly the living conditions will be much better than what we had when serving as a PCV, but the sense of purpose, and of being part of something exciting, will be the same.....
