Description:

Are you a global citizen who is concerned about Zimbabwe?

Have you ever wondered how you can bring your skills, resources, and energy to help women, children and the common people of Zimbabwe?

Join our efforts to make a difference in Zimbabwe. Visit our website at http://www.zimcouncil.org or send us an email at zimcouncil@gmail.com

We are a politically neutral group of global citizens, including Americans, Africans, Zimbabweans, and Europeans working together to play a constructive role in rebuilding Zimbabwe.

We recognize that while much of the attention on Zimbabwe has been political in nature, rebuilding Zimbabwe will take more than politics. It will neither be simple nor swift for any legitimate government or its citizens. Costs will be high and the severe shortage of skilled professionals who have left the country will be a major challenge. The country needs teachers, nurses, doctors, and other professionals to help rebuild public and private institutions. Thus, we have begun this campaign to ensure that the process of harnessing human resources, skills, and financial resources is planned, organized and effective.

Once again, join us and keep the hope alive.

How people can help:

The Council for Zimbabwe has established task forces in health, education and economic development. Through these task forces, we are working to plan and implement ideas to revive the various sectors in Zimbabwe.
• In health, we are working to collect medical equipment and teaching aids to send to universities and hospitals in Zimbabwe. We are also working to create volunteer programs for professionals wishing to help by bringing their skills to revive the health sector.
• In Education, we are collecting books and supplies to ship to students and teachers in Zimbabwe.
• Efforts are underway to create a Fund to provide micro-loans to small businesses in order to create employment opportunities needed to boost the economy.
Concerned citizens can take a bold stand to help individuals and organizations in Zimbabwe through the following practical actions:
1. Collect books and medical supplies to send to Zimbabwe.
2. Mobilize your friends, church, school group to raise funds to help a school or church in Zimbabwe.
3. Volunteer your professional skills to help a school, hospital, or small business in Zimbabwe.
4. Donate money, goods, and books to support a doctor, an orphan, a student, or an institution.
5. Donate your time to the Zimbabwe cause by helping the Council for Zimbabwe.
