PAMEPI is steadfast and determined in the fight against child labor. To realize this goal, a medical campaign was held on 25th April 2008 and ended in 24th September 2008. The beneficiaries of the campaign were pregnant child labors, babies and children under age of ten (10). They received free medical assistance and food aid.
The activities undertaken during the campaign have contributed in addressing the medical plight of the child laborers. Nevertheless, an additional and more concerted effort is desperately needed in view of the enormity of the challenges facing these child laborers.
Due to the escalating nature of Cholera, tuberculoses and HIV/AIDS in the slums of the child laborers, PAMEPI will soon embark on new initiatives as a campaign strategy, in order to reduce and hold back the spread of the afore mentioned diseases.
We are therefore calling on international NGO'S, Philanthropists, individuals, experts and the Ghana government to assist us in all ways possible, so that we can implement comprehensive measures that will make a meaningful impact on the lives of these child labors.
