Description:

PAVE's Survivor Justice Campaign is part of our legislative efforts to shatter the silence of sexual violence!

A main reason for the prevalence of sexual violence in our society is the inability of our criminal justice system to provide justice for victims and survivors. Sexual violence is one of the most underreported crimes due to strong victim blaming and disbelief at all levels of the legal system, from police to district attorneys. This campaign was created to protest the resulting injustices to victims in the criminal justice system by demanding improved responses and services for survivors.

The goal of the Survivor Justice Campaign is to end unfair or unscrupulous policies, legislation, or legal practices against victims or survivors of sexual violence. PAVE advocates on behalf of any individual affected by sexual violence from victims to their community by utilizing grassroots action demanding reform at federal, state, and institutional levels.

*Disclaimer:
PAVE’s Survivor Justice Campaign is not a legal service, nor can it provide legal advice. While this campaign can bring attention to an injustice in a community it cannot guarantee any specific remedy.

Even if your case or situation cannot receive justice, PAVE has many programs that can use your experience as a survivor to inspire and empower others. Do not hesitate to e-mail us and help shatter the silence of sexual violence!

How people can help:

This campaign is ever growing and changing; currently we are looking at accomplishing the following in months to come:
- recruiting an advisory board of victim's rights professionals and advocates
- creating our own website to receive reports and to post action alerts and specific campaign actions
- develop a project featuring victims who have shatter the silence of sexual violence, but can not receive justice in our legal system
- seek grants and funding for expansion of the campaign

Please contact PAVE's Survivor Justice Campaign if you have interest in any of these projects. We would love your involvement on any and all levels!
