Description:
Sheldrake Environmental Center
is pleased to present “A Closer Look” an exhibit of nature photography by local artist Bill Wang. Ongoing until January 8, 2010. Although Bill's award-winning professional work focuses on capturing couples, families and their relationships, this exhibit shows his love of natural subjects. Many of the images in the exhibit were created over the past few years in collaboration with local children at Sheldrake Environmental Center as part of an exercise encouraging them to see natural objects in a different way. "It was great to work with the kids and help them see that there's often more to things than first meets the eye. It was fun to see how much they enjoyed discovering new details revealed by viewing their subjects close-up. Hopefully this will encourage them to appreciate the beauty of nature in a new way." The exhibition is free and open to the public Monday through Friday (except holidays) 9:30 am to 5:00 pm. Sheldrake Environmental Center, 685 Weaver Street in Larchmont, NY; (914) 834-1443.
