Description:

The Sudan-Reach Women's Foundation is looking for college interns to partner with us in raising awareness about the conflict in Sudan within their college campuses.

The main role of the Program Officer is to plan one of our highly successful, Campus Charity Walks to raise awareness and funds for the foundation and its work to eradicate poverty, provide education, and empower women and girls in Sudan.

The crisis in Darfur, Sudan has claimed hundreds of thousands of lives. By organizing the walk event the Program Officer will:

-Help raise awareness about the Darfur Crisis
-Help Sudan-Reach complete the construction of a safe-house facility for homeless women, refugees, and displaced persons
-Gain valuable experience in community organizing, leadership,and event management
-Learn vital public relations and event management skills while becoming part of an important, grassroots effort to change the lives of impoverished women.

Sudan-Reach will provide the materials (t-shirts and water-bottles for all walk participants) publicity materials, literature and brochures about our organization. We will also arrange to have breakfast and lunch served at the event.

Your job will be to get at least 40 students to join your walk, organize the walking path around your campus, and set a date. Walkers will collect pledges from their friends and family.

Walk organizers will receive:
A certificate award from Sudan-Reach
A Sudan-Reach T-shirt and water bottle
A letter of reference or recommendation from Sudan-Reach
Event planning & management experience
Experience with a trusted and respected non-profit

This is a virtual opportunity. Work from anywhere in the United States. Sudan-Reach will provide you with an email account, materials, literature, and project funding.

No experience necessary. Just the drive to succeed and desire to help others.
