Who We Are: Friends of the Orphans is dedicated to improving the lives of orphaned, abandoned and disadvantaged children through the support of the Nuestros Pequeños Hermanos (NPH) network of orphanages in Latin America and the Caribbean. What You Will Do:

We are searching for a self-motivated intern with an interest in grant writing. You must be able to multi-task, work independently, and be flexible with changing priorities. You will support our grant writing team to research and manage grant proposals to foundations and corporations who support our organization’s mission.

POSITION SUMMARY:
This position reports to the National Director, Planned and Major Gifts.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Aid in researching and authoring grant proposals to foundations and corporations.
• Assist in managing the grants calendar that tracks progress, due dates and outcomes for all submissions.
• Researches new opportunities with grant-making organizations and continually looks to broaden relationships.
• Maintains regular contact with all pertinent contacts to fully understand the organization mission and key developments.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

• Excellent writing skills
• Strong understanding of Microsoft Office products and the ability to learn new software.
• Proficient in the English Language.
• Strong organizational skills

This is a part-time (unpaid) internship – 15 hrs per week.
