The role of the Professional Information Department (PID) is to promote the mission, philosophy and reputation of the YAI Network. PID produces publications and conferences for our 20,000 consumers and their families, 5,000 staff, other professionals from the ID/DD field, friends and supporters of our Network, and the general public. Our publications and conferences reflect our dedication to providing the highest quality of care to individuals with disabilities and the most effective, empowering tools to them and their loved ones.

YAI Network is seeking a Web Editorial Intern to work within the Professional Information Department.

This is an unpaid internship opportunity for college credit or interest only.

Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain the new yai.org website. This will include copyediting, fact checking information, organizing folders in the content management system, sizing photos, uploading content, contributing to the information architecture of the website and completing several stand-alone projects for the website.

Requirements:
* The ideal Web Editorial Intern will preferably be a college student majoring in journalism with a focus on new media, magazines or newspapers
* Excellent copyediting skills
* Thorough knowledge of AP style necessary
* Experience with online publishing a plus
* Interest in disability issues, advocacy, grassroots journalism or nonprofit PR a plus
