Do you have a passion for international issues, news, documentaries and culture from around the globe? Are you looking to make a difference by helping to get timely and interesting web content out to the public, and by urging folks to take action on issues meaningful to them? Link TV, a nationwide non-profit, independent television station and worldwide web platform based in San Francisco, is looking for a motivated, web-savvy, and friendly intern/volunteer to help us execute our exciting new web strategies. This is a great opportunity for anyone who is interested in the non-profit sector as well as the new media/journalism/film/television industry. Primary responsibilities include:

Regular tracking of web stats through major web stat programs like Google Analytics
Conducting web research and outreach to bloggers and websites to highlight Link’s great online content
Assisting Link’s web department on organizational tasks like media management
Drafting blog and social networking posts
Designers welcome – ability to help with basic design projects would be a huge plus!
Video editors welcome – ability to help with basic video editing tasks would also be great!

Commitment:

Must be able to work at least 2 days per week from our offices in San Francisco (Embarcadero/North Beach)
Must commit to a minimum three month unpaid internship/volunteer position
Must be able to provide your own laptop computer to work on
Start date is negotiable; ASAP preferred

Skills needed include:

Basic familiarity with Excel and Google docs required.
Demonstrated ability to conduct web research required, preferably among new media outlets, filmmakers and distributors, and non-profit organizations.
Familiarity with using online social networks and other new media tools required.
Excellent writing skills, judgment, and ability to work independently with a professional demeanor required.
Experience in an outward-facing role, with professional customer or client contact (in Marketing, PR, Web, Customer Service, etc.) preferred.
Experience with web analytics (Google Analytics, Urchin) or other analytical data tracking preferred.
Proficiency with Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and demonstrated design skills a plus.
Proficiency with video editing, encoding, and web codecs helpful, but not required.
Some college education in a relevant field is required; a college degree is a plus.
