Description:
PEPY is looking for an enthusiastic, dedicated Small Business Development Intern available for a period of 6-12 months to join us in our Siem Reap office starting in early 2010 (dates flexible).
PEPY is a social venture that combines educational development and responsible travel through both our non-profit organization, PEPY , and our tour company, PEPY Tours, which funds our programs. Seeing a need for educational resources and advocacy in developing areas and also a global desire for meaningful travel options, PEPY’s founders created an organization that fills this space at the intersection of development and tourism. Our two-part mission is:
1) To aid rural communities in improving their own standards of living, with a focus on increased access to quality education.
2) To encourage adventure travel that emphasizes social action, responsibility, and accountability.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
We are hoping to develop some small income generation projects in Chanleas Dai, involving bringing locally produced products to tourist areas of Siem Reap and training local staff to manage the process.
REQUIREMENTS
This position is NEW and requires a very motivated and initiative-driven intern, preferably with a background in sales, marketing, fair trade, or capacity building.
Based in Chanleas Dai Village and Siem Reap.
Application instructions:
Please send your CV or resume and cover letter to teamleader@pepyride.org.
