ANNUAL GIVING PROGRAM MANAGER
The Lucile Packard Foundation for Children’s Health invites applications for the position of Annual Giving Program Manager.
Established in 1996, the Foundation is a 501(c)(3) public charity whose mission is to elevate the priority of children’s health and increase the quality and accessibility of children’s health care through leadership and direct investment. The Foundation fundraises for research, training, and patient care at Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital and for pediatric programs at the Stanford University School of Medicine. The Foundation also serves as a source of public information about the state of children’s health and pursues changes in the system of pediatric health care. Position Summary
As a member of the Annual Giving team, the Annual Giving Program Manager will be charged with developing new Annual Giving programs to expand and significantly impact the base of philanthropic support for Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital and the pediatric programs at Stanford School of Medicine. Reporting to the Director of Direct Marketing, the Annual Giving Program Manager will create, manage, cultivate, monitor, and evaluate giving strategies for specific constituent groups, including the patient family and employee populations at Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital. The Annual Giving Program Manager will develop and use a strategic mix of data modeling, direct marketing, electronic communication, and personal relationships to generate philanthropic awareness and support from new donor populations. S/he will collaborate with other Foundation and Hospital colleagues, as well as external partners, to present an integrated approach to cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of these groups. S/he will also be counted on to consistently track and analyze results, as well as conduct ongoing research, to ensure the effectiveness and success of new fundraising initiatives and to inform the Foundation’s efforts in the development of new donor population strategies.
Essential Duties
The Annual Giving Program Manager, working both independently and collaboratively with the Annual Giving team, will be expected to:
• Proactively research and stay abreast of similar programs at peer organizations nationwide to determine best practices appropriate for new programs within the Foundation’s current development efforts.
• Based on research and past experience, in collaboration with the Director of Direct Marketing, develop new program proposals including basis for recommendations and overall messaging and timelines.
• Upon inception of new programs, execute day-to-day functions of each, ensuring programs are on time, on budget, and executed with the highest level of quality.
• Build relationships with appropriate Hospital staff and other constituents in developing cohesive strategy to raise the profile of philanthropy in the Hospital.
• Liaise with Hospital staff and other in-Hospital constituents as appropriate to ensure a fluid roll out of each program, including presenting program and philanthropic information to various constituent groups.
• Work closely with internal and external partners to manage and manipulate constituent data to inform and drive fundraising efforts within specific constituent populations.
• Coordinate internal activities necessary for the success of each program, including: develop strategy for integration of new programs with current Annual Giving and Major Gifts programs and solicitations; ensure that donor information from new populations is carefully managed in the Foundation’s database; work closely with Development Services department to ensure the Foundation is prepared to handle giving from new donor populations.
• Manage vendor relationships in overseeing the design and production of all marketing and communication materials for each program, including messaging and copywriting, art direction, print production, and distribution.
• Determine appropriate and measurable benchmarks to assess the effectiveness and success of each program, generating analyses of donor giving and trends in collaboration with Development Associate.
• Work with vendors to determine budgets, track expenses per program, and establish metrics to illuminate the return on investment, refining programs based on results.
• Collaborate with the Director of Direct Marketing in identifying opportunities for philanthropic growth within additional constituent populations.

Additional Qualifications:
The successful candidate will possess the following experience, skills, and abilities:
• Undergraduate degree required with three to five years experience in successful program design and project management, including planning, scheduling, and communication.
• Strong data and information management skills required, as well as strong analytical and technical aptitude with an attention to detail.
• Development and/or non-profit experience preferred.
• Comfortable working at both high-level strategy and detailed implementation; ability to see the big picture and how individual components interrelate.
• Self-starter with a high degree of creativity and pragmatism.
• Ability to design and implement effective workflow processes and procedures.
• Exceptional organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously and prioritize accordingly, producing on-time and high-quality results.
• Experience managing projects from conceptualization to completion involving multiple groups with different needs; willingness to reach out to many constituencies to understand their needs and move a group to consensus.
• Proven ability to make sound decisions and solve problems with creativity and flexibility.
• Strong interpersonal skills, professional demeanor, and demonstrated poise in working with a variety of people.
• Experience with marketing production, including strong editing skills and good eye for design.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to communicate complex ideas in concise, compelling, and creative language; ability to synthesize disparate concepts into unifying themes; clear and structured writing style.
• Ability to exercise good judgment in handling confidential information and use discretion in communications with others.
• High level of proficiency in Word and Excel; experience with PowerPoint and Access preferred.
• Experience with the Foundation’s database software (Raiser’s Edge) preferred, and/or a proven ability to become proficient at comprehensive databases and reporting systems.
• High energy with a sense of humor and a passion for continued learning and growth.
