Description:

Recovery Specialists ensures and monitors safety, security and client accountability; provides guidance and direction to clients, oversees client activities to ensure conformance with program policies and procedures in a 28-day post-detox substance abuse treatment program. Tasks include completing regular rounds, supporting daily client needs, milieu management to maintain a safe environment and responding to emergency/crisis situations. Assist program clinical staff in the delivery of client services.

7am-3pm Sundays through Thursdays
3pm-11pm Sundays through Thursdays
The positions are projected to last three to six months and are not benefit eligible.

Additional Qualifications:

Minimum of two years experience working in a substance abuse setting
Minimum of one year experience working in an adult residential program
High school diploma required; some college, advanced education or certification preferred
Must possess strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
Knowledge of mental health and gender specific issues preferred.
Ability to work in positively with coworkers in a team approach and ensure a guest centered atmosphere geared toward needs.
Ability to exercise authority appropriately and set limits in a fair and respectful manner regardless of any behavioral issues.
Ability to make good decisions and exercise sound judgment when necessary
Ability to respond quickly and appropriately in crisis situations.
Understanding of homelessness and issues of low-income, diverse populations.
Strong professional boundaries and ethics.
Computer literate with working knowledge of Microsoft Word, data base and email.
CPR, CPI, universal precautions, ethics and other training will be required
Bilingual/Bicultural English/Spanish language abilities preferred

Physical/Mental Abilities Required:
Ability to work productively with a high volume of traffic
Ability to lift at least 25 pounds; ability to climb stairs
