Description:
Chicago Public Radio, (WBEZ 91.5 FM) is seeking an experienced not-for-profit professional to be the Director for our Capital campaign: “Campaign for a Sound Future”, which has raised $12.5 million toward a total of $15 million, to expand the community-building and creative programming capacities of Chicago Public Radio.
Serving a listening audience of nearly 500,000, and broadcasting throughout Chicago and the surrounding regions. Chicago Public Radio is home to nationally distributed programs such as This American Life, Wait Wait…Don’t Tell Me, and Sound Opinions. We are Chicago’s only NPR member station.
The Director will create opportunities for campaign prospects and donors to increase their engagement with the station. This position will be responsible building and cultivating relationships with current and prospective Campaign donors; including researching and developing profiles on referred prospects. In addition the Director will oversee campaign activity Raisers Edge.
Additional Qualifications:
The right candidate will have 5 plus years experience in not-for-profit fundraising (preferably with Capital Campaign experience), with demonstrated experience interacting and developing relationships with top level donors and executives. Candidates should have clear and concise written communication skills, amazing organizational ability with an obsessive attention to detail. You should have proficiency with current versions of Microsoft Office, membership databases or other contact management software. Knowledge of Raisers Edge, and strong understanding of fundraising for public broadcasting a huge plus.
