Description:

The Aga Khan Foundation U.S.A. (AKF USA) is partnering with the Wolfensohn Center for Development at the Brookings Institution to offer a full-time, 12 month externship with its Early Child Development Initiative. The extern’s responsibilities will include: providing direct research assistance to the ECD Initiative, work with data on ECD indicators, writing/editing documents in English, and assisting in the management of travel, conferences, and events.

Additional Qualifications:

All applicants are required to have an MA or PhD in human development, international education, or related field, with an emphasis on ECD; an advanced knowledge of quantitative and qualitative research methods; familiarity with relevant sources of data on human development; excellent writing, editing, and oral communications skills in English; and project management skills (logistics, contracts management, workshop planning, other administrative duties). Preferred applicants will have experience living and working in a developing country; language skills in Arabic, French, or Spanish; an advanced knowledge of the geo-politics of the Middle East, Africa, and/or Latin American regions; and experience in workshop facilitation, training, or adult learning.

4. A 5-10 page writing/research sample for which you were the sole or primary author
5. 3 professional or academic references
