Description:

Direct 60 unit transitional residence for street homeless men and women. Director oversees a staff of 10 and ensures sub-contractor performs housekeeping, security, and food service activities. The Director is responsible for ensuring residents' clinical needs are met through oversight of case management staff as well as ensuring operations are run in compliance with agency and NYC Department of Homeless Services standards. Director is also responsible for meeting agency & DHS goals for expediting client placement into appropriate permanent housing. Oversees budget of $1.7 million. Ensures that the YMCA Safe Haven is a safe, attractive housing alternative for homeless men and women.

Essential Duties:
-Oversee daily operations and ensure all aspects of facility run effectively.
-Oversee delivery of clinical services, including effective case management, referrals for psychiatric assessments & treatment, referrals to medical services as needed and therapeutic client activities.
-Oversee & promote effective strategies of placement of clients into appropriate permanent housing.
-Oversee a staff of 10, including 3 direct reports.
-Liaise with DHS & ensure compliance with all DHS operations and facilities requirements.
-Liaise with Jamaica YMCA, neighbors, and community-at-large.
-Manage budget of $1.7 million.

Qualifications:
-Minimum of 5 years supervisory experience;
-Minimum of 3 years operations experience.
-Prior experience working with homeless populations.
-Training in CPR, use of Naloxene required.
-Ideal candidate will have completed training in de-escalation, crisis intervention, universal precautions, & cultural competencies.
NYS Certification in overdose prevention preferred.
-Superior organization and problem-solving skills, ability to juggle multiple priorities; Ability to work with challenging populations preferred.
-Must be able to communicate effectively with staff and clients verbally and in writing.
-The ideal candidate for this position will have both strong operations and clinical experience.
-Advanced degree preferred.
-Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite;
-Experience and proficiency with case management software.
-Prior experience with Foothold software preferred.
