Description:
For over 81 years, Planned Parenthood Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota has worked in our region to help ensure all people have the information and means to make free and responsible decisions about their families and their futures. We are the leading provider of reproductive healthcare in the region, and this dynamic and longstanding organization is currently looking for a passionate, motivating, and innovative team builder for our Minnesota Public Affairs Manager position. This full-time position will work creatively to help garner support for the organization throughout Minnesota by carrying out community action, grassroots organizing, legislative affairs, new, social and traditional media communications, and program management.
Successful candidates will have a Bachelors degree and 3-5 years experience in grassroots community organizing, fundraising, legislative advocacy and public relations. Must have a strong knowledge of the legislative process, basic organizing techniques, and experience with volunteer recruitment, training, and supervision. Preferred experience with the VAN, Get Active, and social networking/new media. Must be a dynamic and outstanding communicator who has the ability to make connections with people and motivate and inspire them to achieve results. Additionally, this position requires a entrepreneurial self-starter who thrives in a fast paced, results-oriented environment. Must have the willingness and ability to travel.
