Description:
Save the Children, the leading independent organization creating real and lasting change for children in the US and around the world, seeks an Executive Assistant, under the general direction of the General Counsel, to provide high level administrative assistance to the legal department with respect to various aspects of the department’s work. This includes collecting, analyzing, organizing and maintaining factual information; preparing standard documents and meeting minutes; scheduling and managing the attorneys’ calendars and travel; reviewing, evaluating and responding to estate related correspondence; monitoring budget expenditures; and general administrative duties. This position will also provide back up support to the Office of the President as needed.
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree from four year college or university; five to seven years administrative experience at a comparable level preferably in a legal environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Paralegal training (preferred). Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint to create correspondence, create and maintain databases, create reports and presentations as required. Willingness to learn additional software skills as needed. Ability to read and analyze estate related documents, draft correspondence, create reports and prepare case summaries; to respond to inquiries from staff or estate representatives and other stakeholders; and to effectively present information to attorneys and senior management.
Ability to anticipate and define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and recommend course of action.

The individual who will be successful in this position will have the following additional skills: Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for effectively dealing with diverse groups of individuals at various levels within an organization; Excellent customer service skills and strong organization skills; Ability to manage and coordinate complex executive level appointment calendars; Demonstrated ability to work as a member of a team and exercise good judgment and discretion in handling sensitive and confidential information.
