The road from cancer diagnosis to survivorship is a journey that offers many twists and turns. Some of these turns may be trying and difficult and others may offer unexpected comfort.
For young women dealing with breast cancer, this journey is often complicated by the fact that many of the most easily available resources and sources of information about breast cancer are geared toward middle-aged women and older. The purpose of the You Are Not Alone guide is to let young women who are dealing with breast cancer know that they are not alone.
The idea for this guide came out of a very powerful collaboration between two national organizations that joined forces in order to address the unique needs of young women with breast cancer. These two organizations are the American Cancer Society (ACS)and the Young Survival Coalition (YSC).
