Description:
ServeNext.org was founded in 2007 to advocate for national service and AmeriCorps to make it a priority for our elected leaders as a strategy to tackle pressing social problems and strengthen our democracy. Three years later it played a critical role in the bipartisan passage of the Edward M. Kennedy Serve America Act – the boldest service legislation in over 75 years that will triple the size of AmeriCorps from 75,000 annual members to 250,000 members, launch the Social Innovation Fund, and more.
We have also recently launched Social Media for Service -- a joint project with the New Organizing Institute -- to strength the service movement by training and coaching service organizations to effectively utilize social media and online tools as a means to engage more people and improve impact.
