Mission:
One of our current projects aims at reforming some 8000-plus Pakistani madrassa which are the main source of hatred and in some cases terrorism. The government of Pakistan receives a lot of funds to reform them, but it lacks the political will. The main attraction for parents to send their children to madrassa is free education and boarding. Our idea is to match every madrassa with a school which also offers free education and in addition promises better job opportunities to the children. This is something the madrassa doesn't do. We hope this strategy of competing the services offered by madrassah will either force them to reform or they will give way to our free schools.
An experienced journalist, publisher, broadcaster and social activist, Masror Hausen has served over 10 NGOs and UN agencies in Pakistan and Afghanistan as media and communications consultant. His team includes highly skilled professionals who have passion for social justice.
