The Posse Foundation is a not-for-profit organization that recruits and trains diverse teams (“posses”) of public high school students who exhibit strong leadership potential. Over the past fourteen years, 721 Posse Scholars have won over $63 million in four-year, leadership, merit scholarships from Posse partner colleges and universities. Posse Scholars are recruited through a dynamic, three-month selection process that focuses on overall talent, leadership ability, desire to succeed, and ability to work constructively with people of different backgrounds. Once Posse Scholars are selected they attend eight months of training at the Posse offices. Posses are prepared, as teams, to go on to college campuses, succeed academically, and help to create more interactive climates of diversity. Posse has offices in Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles and New York. Our university partners include Bowdoin, Brandeis, Bryn Mawr, Carleton, Colby, Denison, DePauw, Dickinson, Grinnell, Hamilton, Lafayette, Middlebury, University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign, University of Wisconsin at Madison, Vanderbilt, and Wheaton.
