Mission:
Urgent Action Fund (UAF) is an international human
rights foundation dedicated to the support of
women activists working in conflict or crisis
situations. Through its programs of Rapid Response
Grantmaking and Research & Publications, UAF
assists women who are striving to promote and
protect the rights and interests of women and girls
by ensuring women’s security and participation in
conflict prevention and resolution, peace building,
and post-conflict reconstruction. Based in Boulder,
Colorado, UAF is joined in this effort by its now
independent sister organization, Urgent Action
Fund-Africa, located in Nairobi, Kenya.
Urgent Action Fund offers a vibrant and high
performance work environment that encourages
professional growth and leadership, and provides
opportunities for international travel and
networking. It is an activist-led organization with
an international Board of Directors that provides
