Mission:

Founded in 1987, the mission of the Georgia Center for Child Advocacy is to provide healing for children and families who have experienced sexual abuse. We accomplish our mission by providing forensic interviews, crisis-counseling and long-term psychological treatment, educating other professionals about child sexual abuse, and facilitating coordinated service between social and criminal justice agencies involved in protecting the child and investigating the criminal aspects of the case. These services are provided at no cost to children between the ages of three and seventeen who reside, or were abused, in DeKalb or Fulton County. We also have a statewide prevention initiative called Stewards for Children, which provides training for adults on child sexual abuse prevention. In September 2007, the Georgia Center for Children and the Fulton County Child Advocacy Center merged to become the Georgia Center for Child Advocacy.
