Mission:
The GreenHeart Foundation is a non-profit, non-religious, non-political organization dedicated to the perpetuation of Lao cultural heritage through the promotion of Lao textile arts.
The GreenHeart Foundation is a very small grassroots organization, currently staffed by the founder and his small team of volunteers and helpers.
The GreenHeart Foundation is committed to using locally grown natural fibers and dyes and promoting traditional techniques. We also support community education, to help in the evolution of the 3,000-year-old Lao weaving tradition in a changing world – in effect, to manifest continuity through change.
It is our goal to economically and socially benefit Lao rural mountain artisans and thereby contribute to the wider community. Specifically, to enable local women to build sustainable livelihoods in an area plagued by child trafficking and opium production.
We also recognize the lingering effects of unexploded ordnance (UXO) in Laos. We actively promote an awareness campaign and promote safe UXO bomb removal.
Our natural Resort is under construction and will be opened to host nature-travelers and people with an understanding for sustainable practices in hotel and tourism businesses. For our tourist activities in our target areas we work together with the "Fair Trek" project and founders to ensure financial profits whenever visitors visit our villages...
