Mission:
Founded in 1994 and led by music director Federico Cortese the New England String Ensemble mission is to engage, educate, and inspire through passionate string performances and innovative community programs. The only orchestra in New England whose sole purpose is to renew interest and foster education in string instruments, the Ensemble is increasingly gaining recognition as one of America’s finest orchestras. It has received grants from the National Endowment for the Arts and from the Koussevitsky Foundation of the Library of Congress, and the Boston Globe has three times selected its concerts as among the best musical events of the year.
