The mission of KIPP Academy: Charlotte is to prepare all of our students to thrive in the nations finest high schools and colleges by cultivating the habits of mind, character skills, and knowledge necessary for their success. We provide an education which enables them to lead full lives and will empower our students to be the future leaders of Charlotte and agents of change in the world beyond.

We seeking to buiild a school of individuals dedicated to the transformation of the community we serve through the education of its children. With extraordinary effort, exceptional instruction, and an unwavering belief in the potential of children, all stakeholders are working together and committed to providing an excellent education to every child in Charlotte. We seek to cultivate outspoken, articulate, critical human beings of character who will grow to realize their unique gifts, actualize their potential and ultimately enjoy a full life.


This mission will be carried out using some of the design features that have been proven at KIPP schools and school districts across the nation. Most specifically, using KIPP’s 5 Pillars we will achieve our mission. These five pillars are:

KIPP Academy: Charlotte’s primary responsibility is to improve student learning. Our program is simple: Do what works and work extremely hard. There are no short cuts. The school will be structured around the “Five Pillars” of success and has shown a record of results in North Carolina with KIPP: Gaston College Prep.
