Walker and Associates (W&A) is a thirteen -year-old management and consulting firm specializing in the field of Community Economic Development (CED) broadly defined to include affordable housing, economic development, comprehensive community initiatives, and social justice. We provide an extensive array of financial and technical supports to nonprofit organizations and foundations, including executive search and conference planning. Our comprehensive services, extensive network of contacts within the nonprofit, public and private sectors, and proven ability to identify exceptional candidates of color, distinguish W&A from our peers in the executive search arena. As a small firm, we draw from a pool of consultants in Chicago, Los Angeles, Minneapolis and Oakland to assemble a customized team for each search. In addition, we limit our executive search contracts to no more than four per year in combination with our other projects, including national and regional leadership conferences, which provide additional opportunities for the identification of highly qualified candidates. W&A has successfully completed more than fifteen high-profile searches for nonprofits and foundations.
