Mission:
As a semi-retired management executive, I serve since roughly 10 years as an unpaid health volunteer, mainly helping youngsters infected or affected by HIV/AIDS.
As of the spring of 2006, after finding my personal paradise while volunteering for an local NGO called Bufumira Island Association (BIDA), I decided to settle on an Ssese Island located within Lake Victoria in Uganda.
There on the main Bugala Island, outside of the district capital named Kalangala, I initiated the development of a small secular, non-affiliated, therefore neutral clinic/health centre to help youngsters, mainly females as of the age of 8 years old.
Additionally, in cooperating with district authorities, like the district health department, the national police forces, the clergy, the school authorities, etc… I also offer sexual education as I prefer to concentrate on prevention, but am also helping and care for victims of sexual abuse and violence, deal even with slavery and human trafficking.
As I do so mainly with personal funds/savings, my possibilities are limited, and although I was able to motivate others in the region to assist and cooperate with me, like nurses, midwives, etc… we need besides funding to cover further expansion and day to day operating expenses, mainly volunteering human talents to compensate our shortcomings. Such mainly in the medical and non-medical field, like doctors, surgeons, nurses, midwifes, pharmacists, lab-technicians but also fundraisers, multitalented builders, construction workers/handymen, vegetable gardeners, cooks/bakers, administrators/accountants, etc… committed people which can with their own resources add fundamental value to our grass-root initiative.
This only with one purpose, which is to give to thousands of volatile youngsters on these islands, mainly orphans that no-one cares for, already victims, either by birth or by a lack of opportunities, by abuse or violence, a chance to have a worthwhile future, that all of us take for soo granted.
So, please, if you want to become a part of this undercapitalized, green-field, grass-root initiative, now registred as an NGO (non-profit Ltd & CBO), currently purely kept afloat by its highly motivated initiator and local volunteers, then please…. come and help, ….. and by doing so, add value to your own existence.
