Mission:
Neve Shalom ~ Wahat Al-Salam (NS/WAS) is a village of Arabs and Jews in Israel who have lived and worked together since 1976, in a shared quest to promote equality, mutual respect and cooperation within our community and beyond.
The community is home to several educational institutions. Its bi-national, bilingual, multicultural nursery, preschool and primary school (K-6) serve children from the village and its region: the first comprehensive educational establishment in Israel in which Jewish and Arab children learn both languages and all the traditions of each people – together. Professionals working with groups in conflict-resolution training at the School for Peace, which runs encounter workshops for young people and adults. Doumia-Sakinah, the Pluralistic Spiritual Center, offers interfaith programming oriented to the quest for peace in the country, the region, and globally.
