Mission:
Inwood House is dedicated to helping young people achieve healthy adulthood and self-reliance. A pioneer in the field of teen pregnancy prevention, we provide New York City teenagers with the information, skills and personal resources needed to resist peer pressure and make responsible decisions about sexual involvement. Inwood House addresses every aspect of teen pregnancy and is there for our most vulnerable teenagers at every critical juncture. The Inwood House Maternity Residence is a haven for pregnant teenagers in foster care. Our Mother/Baby Foster Care program places teen mothers with thier babies in a caring family environment. The Inwood House Adolescent Parents in Training and Young Fathers programs provide support, education and vocational counseling and independent living skills training to teen parents. Our comprehensive pregnancy prevention efforts include Teen Choice, which serves 14 NYC public schools and Boys to Men, engaging 10-16 year old boys in meaningful after school activities.
