Mission:

The GO Project, in Lower Manhattan, provides academic, enrichment, and social services to elementary public school students. The GO Project partners with independent schools that provide space and resources to implement high quality, cost effective programs for at-risk students and families in the downtown community. Currently, The GO Project delivers services to over 300 students to improve their academic foundation, build self-esteem and develop the skills necessary to achieve lasting success.

GO focuses on helping students develop the tools they need to succeed before becoming academically and socially disengaged. To this end, GO intervenes to address intellectual, social, and emotional needs of students who are struggling at the earliest stage of their academic career. GO remains committed to the theory that each child has a different learning style and therefore requires individual assessment and programming to build the skills and confidence they need to succeed.

The GO Project offers comprehensive support to GO students and their families. Students make a year-long commitment to The GO Project and their parents agree to support this pledge. The GO Project model includes the following programs:

GO Summer - A five-week, full day rigorous academic and enrichment program.

GO School - A teacher lead Saturday morning program held 22 Saturdays during the school year.

GO Families - A year-round social service program designed to empower parents of participants in creating positive learning environments at home and to address various student learning and behavioral issues.
