Mission:
Earthwatch Institute engages people worldwide in scientific field research and education to promote the understanding and action necessary for a sustainable environment.
Earthwatch supports over 140 expeditions in 45 countries each year, recruiting some 4,000 members of the public, most with no special skills, to join over 650 expedition teams, to work side-by-side with leading scientists. These paying volunteers, aged 16 up to retirees, assist noted scientists in the field for 1-3 weeks. Project disciplines range from a-z; from archaeology, animal behavior, ecology, marine biology, to forestry, ornithology, paleontology, world health, and zoology.
