Mission:
The Corps Network is the voice of the nation’s 136 Service and Conservation Corps. Currently operating in 42 states and the District of Columbia, Corps annually enroll over 26,000 young men and women who contribute more than 16 million hours of service per year. Established in 1985, The Corps Network was in the forefront of the national service movement and remains so today. The Corps Network is governed by a board of directors composed of Corps directors and nationally known individuals who bring expertise in national service, education, evaluation, youth development, and conservation.
Over the past 20 years, The Corps Network has played a key role in shaping and securing passage of two pieces of national service legislation, has achieved a respected status nationally in the youth development field, and has been an active participant in environmental policymaking and the development of environmental legislation related to Corps.
The Corps Network is committed to establishing opportunities for Corps to access “fee for service” and obtain grants and contracts on the federal level through legislation on National Service, Workforce Development, Juvenile Justice, Education, Public Lands and the Environment, Disaster Preparedness and Relief, Health and Human Services, Homeland Security, Housing and Urban Development, Tribal Programs, Energy, Transportation, Agriculture and other federal programs.
