Mission:
The District of Columbia Coaltion Against Domestic Violence (DCCADV) was established in 1986 by four women from several local community groups who had discovered that they shared an understanding of the destructiveness, complexity, and pervasiveness of domestic violence. These four women created a new organization to unify and shape disparate local anti-domestic violence efforts into a single, effective force to eliminate domestic violence in the District of Columbia. Since that time, the DCCADV has worked for the elimination of domestic violence through a coordinated community response that focuses on direct service, advocacy, public policy and public education, technical assistance and training.
