Mission:
Since 1870, the YWCA-NYC has been a pioneer for social change through innovative programs that improve the lives of the women, girls and families of New York City. From our headquarters at 53rd and Lexington, our Flushing Branch and eight child care centers citywide, the YW serves New Yorkers with a wide variety of programs including: employment training for women and dislocated workers, girls' leadership development, networking for youth with disabilities and fitness and arts programs.
The YWCA-NYC is one of the oldest and largest membership organizations in the world with more than 25 million members worldwide. Since 1830, the YWCA’s pledge to serve and advocate for women and girls has remained strong and continues to grow as a world movement.
The YWCA-NYC is a place where New Yorkers from all walks of life can learn, work out, create, gain new experiences and make new friends.
Although our focus is women and girls, the YWCA-NYC is a co-ed organization.
