Mission:

As one of the largest service providers in Massachusetts, Advocates offers quality human service, senior support services, brain injury services and healthcare alternatives. Every day hundreds of individuals and families affected by psychiatric illness, chemical dependency, developmental disabilities, Traumatic or Acquired Brain Injury (TBI/ ABI), or other life challenges rely on Advocates for professional assessment and intervention.

Advocates provides a full continuum of mental health and substance abuse services throughout Eastern and Central Massachusetts, including the Greater Boston area. We provide individual supports in a variety of settings, including in-home supports, shared living, 24- hour supports, supported housing, adult foster care, and respite settings.

Our Outpatient Mental Health and Substance Abuse Clinics, Psychiatric Emergency Services and Senior Support Services reach approximately 10,000 individuals and families annually.

Advocates' philosophy is based on common values and principles that guide the delivery of all of the services we provide. We believe that all individuals have the right to pursue their personal goals and to contribute to the community. We believe they are entitled to receive accessible services; to live in decent and affordable housing; to be treated with dignity and respect; and to live in inclusive and diverse communities. The employees of Advocates and the recipients of the services we provide work together with the community to ensure that these universal rights are promoted and protected.
