Mission:
The International Partnership for Service-Learning and Leadership (IPSL), founded in 1982, is a not-for-profit educational organization incorporated in New York State. IPSL has relocated its offices to Portland. Oregon where we continue to serve students, colleges, universities, service agencies and related organizations around the world by fostering programs that link volunteer service to the community and academic study. IPSL has two related missions: 1) offering programs uniting academic study and volunteer service to the community in international/ intercultural settings that are models for the practice of service-learning, and 2) promoting the theory and practice of service-learning through research, publications, conferences, and training.
The International Partnership for Service-Learning and Leadership initiates, designs, and administers undergraduate service-learning programs in various countries. Undergraduate programs are open to college and university students and graduates from any nation, qualified high school graduates, and in-service professionals. IPSL also designed and administers an 18 month graduate program of study and service leading to the Master's Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies: Focus on Leadership for International Service, preparing students for professional positions in not-for-profit service agencies internationally and/or locally.
