Mission:
The Carole Robertson Center for Learning is a multicultural nonprofit partnership among parents, youth, and community, that is dedicated to nurturing, supporting, and strengthening family life through quality child, youth, and family development programs. The Center serves Chicago families and facilitates community advocacy on child and family issues
Description:
The Carole Robertson Center for Learning is named in memory of Carole Robertson, Addie Mae Collins, Cynthia Wesley, and Denise McNair, the four children who were tragically killed in the 1963 Birmingham church bombing.
The Carole Robertson Center operates three sites in the North Lawndale, Little Village, and Near West Side communities of urban Chicago. Sites are open from 6:00 am to 9:00pm Monday through Friday, with regular Saturday programming. The Carole Robertson Center serves nearly 800 children, ranging in age from infancy through teenagers, and their families each day. In addition, the Center serves more than 150 adults in the community.
