South Middlesex Opportunity Council is a private not-for-profit corporation committed to mobilizing and utilizing public and private resources to advocate for and improve the quality of life for low-income people in the Metro West region. S.M.O.C. (1) organizes, represents and advocates for low-income people in order to attack and eradicate the causes of poverty; (2) provides direct services to low-income people designed to improve their quality of life; and (3) fosters community development through housing and economic development programs.
