Mission:
Young Detroit Builders (YDB) operates the YouthBuild Detroit program which helps disadvantaged young adults (ages 18-24) to rebuild their lives while they rebuild their community. YouthBuild participants learn construction skills while they build low income housing in Detroit. They study to complete their GED's and engage in community service, leadership development, life and job skills building.
YDB is also an AmeriCorps project with 21 members, mostly part-time but with four full time members.
