Mission:
The Empowerment Project was founded to produce and distribute progressive documentary films and videos as well as to provide facilities, training, leadership, consultation, and other support for independent producers, artists, activists, and organizations working in the film and video mediums. Since its inception in 1984 through the collaboration of video producer David Kaspar and community organizer Barbara Trent, EP’s purpose has been to work towards the democratization of the access to media, and to provide the resources necessary to put the power of media into the hands of individuals and organizations working to further important social and artistic purposes.
