Mission:
The Philadelphia Development Partnership (PDP) is a private, non-profit organization whose mission is to promote economic development in low- and moderate-income neighborhoods throughout the Philadelphia region.
The majority of PDPs clients come to PDP for assistance to start-up or grow existing businesses and often face are lacking access to capital. PDP believes that one of the best ways to revitalize neighborhoods is by helping microenterprise and small business owners succeed. To offer a solution to these barriers, PDP offers microloans (starting as low as $500) that are not limited by an individuals prior credit history, personal or business income level, type of business, or availability of collateral. In addition to credit availability, microentrepreneurs also receive business skills training, networking opportunities, and one-on-one business counseling to enhance their business management skills, increase market opportunity, and prepare them for growth beyond the program and entry into the formal economy.
